We are making a shift this year with the way we keep our vocational and transition information. Instead of the binders from last year, we are going to make digital portfolios using Google Sites. This is what last year's binder looked like:
The digital portfolio is a wonderful way for the students to showcase their work and achievements as they relate to their transition plan and post-graduation endeavors. The idea is that students can then share these sites with future teachers, employers, mentors, etc. Everyone worked hard at creating their "homepage" which included information about them and their picture. We will share the links to these sites with parents as we get further along with the process. I want to know - do you like the vocational binder or the digital portfolio better? Why?

First Day Smiles!
I am so happy to be back at school, and I think that emotion was shared. I couldn't wait to see this group and get started with all of the awesome things we have going on this year. First off, we are going to start a class blog to keep everyone up to date on what's happening in our room. By the end of the year, my goal is for each student to start up and manage their own blog! No one skipped a beat today. We all quickly got back into the routine. Everyone is very excited to start working at our vocational placements and taking curriculum connected community trips in the month of October. Here's to an awesome year. Check out our new room layout and our smiling first day faces. What are you most looking forward to this year?
