Discussing Responsibility in Reading

Yesterday we read a story with the theme of responsibility.  We have been discussing what it means to be responsible.  Everyone came up with good words to define "being responsible" - such as working, mature, dependable, independent, trustworthy and telling the truth.  We did an iPad activity where students had to make sticky notes about some of their responsibilities at home (in orange) and some of their parent's responsibilities at home (in blue).  This discussion has tied in nicely to our recent lessons on using Google Calendar to independently gain information about our work sites.  I am really challenging everyone this year to problem solve things independently!  How else can you be responsible in school or in the workplace this year?

  3. A way you can be responsible is by doing spell better instead of asking your teachers for help. At your job you can try to work it out on your own and if you can't ask for help.
